GUARDIAN HOME POLICIES
Lawpdoodle Kennel
has added a Guardian Home Program option for acquiring a puppy for your family when available. This puppy would join your
family at no initial purchase cost to you, but we will retain breeding rights as long as we choose to use said puppy for our program. This would be on a minimal basis annually. For males, it may be more than once a year….for females….only once a year. At the time that Lawpdoodle would require the services of your dog, a male may stay up to 2 weeks, a female would stay from the time
of breeding and whelping until the puppies are weaned at 6 weeks. At the end of each term, your dog would return to home to
be with you. Please keep in mind, we cannot plan the timing of heats of our females, we can only estimate. We would need your dog to be ready to come and live with us for breeding services with little advance notice. With regard
to females, we would require that you notify us as soon as she shows her very first sign of heat. We may choose to bring her
immediately or within 5 to 7 days. We would then require that she come and stay with us at Lawpdoodle Kennel for the required
time. We will be able to give a few days notice on our need of males, since we will contact you as soon as we believe one of
our females is beginning her cycle.
Females will be retired following
a maximum of 3 litters and/or 5 years of age. Males will be retired at the age of 5 years. Lawpdoodle Kennel will
retain the Registration Papers for registering the offspring. Once your dog is eligible for retirement, we will require
proof of neutering/spaying at which time we will turn those papers over to you. From that day forward…..your dog will live his/her
life out with your family and with no further obligation to Lawpdoodle Kennel.
While in your care, you are solely responsible for the cost of feeding (Brand of Food as approved by Lawpdoodle Kennel/Breeder) and
maintaining daily supplements of NuVet vitamins (Please see information on NuVet from the link on our Home Page). You will also
be responsible for the expense of all necessary veterinarian exams, parasite control (worms, fleas and ticks) and recommended vaccines. Rabies is a requirement, and must be followed as stated by the law in the State of West Virginia. Lawpdoodle Kennel must
be provided with all contact information and credentials of your choice of a Veterinarian.
Breeder reserves the right of inspection of your home at any given time and full knowledge of the daily living conditions of chosen
dog for the Guardian Program. Location of the Guardian Home must be within 100 miles of Lost Creek, West Virginia. Pittsburgh, PA, Charleston, WV and surrounding areas are acceptable locations for Guardian Homes from Lawpdoodle Kennel.
Lawpdoodle Kennel will make all arrangements for transportation of your dog at the time we would require their services for breeding
at our location.
Guardian Home Family agrees to make
sure no other intact dogs (not neutered/spayed) live in the home or at any time have access to the dog while living in their care
as part of the Guardian Program with Lawpdoodle Kennel.
At the time you take your puppy home to be part of your family, you will be required to sign a contract agreement stating these policies and any additional information recommended as part of this agreement.
